The Boston Joyce Forum arises out of a collaboration between Boston College and Northeastern University. The goal of the Forum is to provide a collaborative environment for local scholars and students working on any aspect of Joyce’s work. We have chosen for this year’s theme “Joyce and History.”
Our first Forum event, a lecture by Professor John McCourt of Universita Roma Tre on the subject of Joyce, Film, and History took place on Feb 16, 2011.
The first Forum event at Northeastern was an evening colloquium on Wednesday, March 23 featuring BC’s Burns Scholar, Nicholas Allen, Sergio Delgado (Harvard), Nadia Louar (University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh), and Beryl Schlossman of Northeastern University.
This semester’s final event will be a symposium to be held at Boston College on Saturday, April 16. Joyceans of international repute such as Joe Valente (Buffalo) and Marilyn Reizbaum (Bowdoin) will present a series of lectures on the same theme of Joyce and History.
Throughout the semester Raidin the Wake, the Boston College Finnegans Wake reading group, now in its seventh year, will meet weekly in Boston College’s ILA building at Stone Avenue.
